These hand-carved houses are made with albesia wood, a fast-growth renewable resource.Each is hand painted using nontoxic paint, and then finished with nontoxic polyurethanecoating for weathering the elements. Each features a 1-1/4" diameter opening (1-1/2" opening on cat style) to attract birds like wrens, chickadees, and nuthatches. The walls of the gourd are about 1/2" thick. The bottom of each house is removable for end-of-season cleanout. Generous nylon hanging cord makes it easy to hang these houses from a tree branch.
